Cove’s Gold-X, more commonly known as Sylfirm X is a treatment that uses FDA-approved Pulsed Wave and Continuous Wave Radio Frequency (RF) Microneedling System. This can be used across different skin types for multiple benefits with its powerful 300 micron depth. Precise thermal coagulation is created by using evenly-leveled electrodes to penetrate precise depths. RP (repeated ultra-short pulse) micro-needling technology makes it such that the system reacts to only abnormal blood vessels and tissue to selectively treat increased pigmentation and vascular lesions—it is the only RF micro-needling device approved to safely treat neovascularity including hard-to-treat conditions like Rosacea and Melasma.

How does Gold-X work?

Energy is released into the device at 2MHz, through the 300 micron needle tips which are able to target precise depth between 0.3mm to 4mm, compared to other conventional micro-needling RF.

With each penetration, the 300 micron needles remain in the skin for the optimal time required to bring about an effect before any thermal damage can occur.

The emitted 2MHz strengthens and improves skin health by repairing damaged skin cells, blood vessels, and remodels skin collagen through the increase in the production of collagen and elastin.

The combination of PW waves and NA effect ensures the selective coagulation using bi-polar non-insulated needles for the treatment of damaged skin cells while maintaining overall skin health.

When will I see results?

The outcomes can differ for each individual, primarily influenced by the nature and severity of the condition. While noticeable results may become apparent after a single session, optimal outcomes are typically achieved with a recommended course of 5-6 sessions at intervals of 4-6 weeks. We advise consulting with our doctors for a comprehensive assessment to determine the appropriate number of sessions for your specific needs.

Is the treatment painful?

A topical anaesthetic cream will be administered before the treatment to ensure utmost comfort for patients. Sensations such as tingling, pressure and warmth may be perceived during the procedure due to the energy emitted by the device. However, majority of patients report experiencing minimal to no discomfort.

Is there any downtime?

Anticipate mild redness and swelling immediately following the treatment. This typically resolves within a few hours. Normal daily activities can be resumed immediately post-treatment.

In the case of melasma, pigments may temporarily intensify (appearing darker or redder) for the initial 1-2 weeks before gradually fading. For scars, the resolution of redness and swelling may take 2-3 days.

Any post-treament care?

Proper aftercare is essential to ensure optimal results and minimize any potential side effects.

Avoid Sun Exposure

Limit sun exposure for at least 1 week post-treatment. 
If you need to be outdoors, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with high SPF (and wear a cap!)

Gentle Cleansing

Cleanse gently with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser 
Avoid harsh scrubs or exfoliants that could irritate the treated skin

Hydration is Key

Use a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer and cool hydrating sheet masks
Avoid products with harsh chemicals or fragrances that could irritate the skin
Active ingredients to avoid for 1 week post-treatment: retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), Vitamin C, Niacinamide
Wait until all redness or irritation has subsided before reintroducing these ingredients slowly

Minimize Makeup

Avoid makeup application for at least 24 hours post-treatment to allow the skin to recover

Be Cautious with Heat and Sweat

Avoid strenuous exercises that cause excessive sweating for the first 24-48 hours (sweating may increase the risk of infection and irritation)
Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms for the first few days (heat can worsen redness and swelling)

Patience is Key

Results may take time to fully manifest. Be patient and allow your skin to heal naturally. Avoid picking your face at all costs!
